An abundance of recreational facilities and programs are available in
the Lakin area. Lakin boasts one of the finest 9-hole golf courses in
the region with grass greens. Outdoor activities are available at a
number of parks in and around town. Beymer Water Recreation Park
features fishing, swimming, camping, and picnic areas with barbeque
grills. The Lakin City Park offers a municipal indoor and outdoor
aquatic center, basketball courts, playground equipment, and Boy and
Girl Scout houses. The three other parks offer playground equipment,
ball diamonds, skate park and walking path, picnic areas, basketball,
and tennis courts.
In addition, the area provides
softball/baseball complexes, an indoor and outdoor rodeo arena, a gun
club and an eight-lane bowling alley. Many hunters are attracted to the
area for upland game bird hunting.
The Lakin Recreation Commission operates
a full array of programs for youth and adults throughout the year. Their
facility provides racquetball, weight lifting and exercise equipment,
and various other games and programs.
